Oh, how I adore, appreciate and worship genuinely funny folks with quick wits. Some of them are my friends, some of them are just ordinary bypassers on the street, some of them are the drunks at the pubs, the celebrities in their thousand interviews, my dog (I swear, he makes me laugh several times a day), my dad, some people on the internet with too much time on their hands.. Oh, how I live for the precious moments these people gift us with in our everyday lives.

(By the way, I don’t expect you guys to laugh at this specific jpg or even at the video / interview it’s taken from. I just wanted to come up with a reason to post it, so that one day when I randomly read back my old entries, I will find it and laugh again. I will, however, give an appreciative high five to anyone who knows what it’s about. SIX SQUIRTS!)

(EDIT: I forgot to add this!! It’s a video about the polar bears dealing with spy cams. I almost peed myself when the camera thing took off on its little wheels trying to escape the bear. Bzzzzzz BOING!)

But yes. Stuff has been going on. Aside from my usual animal-abuse-worrying, desperate-future-planning, insane-vampire-related-book-devouring home life I’ve actually gone out too. I spent a weekend with Jutta at Fiskars, photographing stuff for the village itself and to a lovely restaurant. Imagine! How perfect is this: they make a delicious dish of heavenly food, I take a few shots of it AND get to eat it! I think that’s awesome. (I think I’m going to start photographing vodka bottles next, and beautiful houses in California, some silkie chickens and Adrien Brody. You know. To get to keep them afterwards.)

Ok, so just visit Fiskars if you have the chance. It’s just a wonderful, beautiful place that not enough people know of.

Last week I went to see this artist I really like (he’s called Olavi Uusivirta – very Finnish), to take some live photos. Bumped into some guys I was working with this summer, one thing led to another, and soon I realized I was suffering a 2-day hangover. Outrageous! Not fair! After all, we were just singing and dancing until 9am next morning..

I really don’t like getting old. It sucks! My mind’s still 16. Why is my body twice the age?! Grrr.

Yesterday was fun too! Me and Satu, we went to see Green Day play “live” in a movie theatre, on the big big screen. Well, as we learned afterwards, the gig wasn’t actually a live broadcast from Germany, but we might have thought so.. It was so very odd to watch a band on stage without dancing, singing (well I did some yodling along), clapping, shouting “YEAH!!”, stagediving (honestly, we do that a lot – not), rushing into the first row (that we sometimes do). Instead of all that usual stuff we ate popcorn and did some happy giggling.

It was all very NOT rock’n'roll, but as I said earlier, also very comfortable for the elderly such as us.

After coming home from the “gig” I went out to take some photos, and later had to update my Facebook status with the following message:

After spending more than an hour photographing up-to-my-knees-SNOW in the dark, for fun, fingers toes frozen blue, I realized once again I’m doing something I truly love. And it’s my job too! Utterly fantastic.

No, itkin sitten kuitenkin tuolla ihan Gordon Summerin käskystä (vaikka se on poika). Onneks monissa tapahtumissa on aina niin pimeetä. Se on varmaan tarkoituksella silleen ajateltu – että kuitenkin ne keski-ikäset rupeaa siellä kaliapäissänsä volisemaan ja sitten niitä hävettää eikä ne tykkää koko keikasta eikä ne maksa enää ikinä lipuista ja meidän pitää ruveta oikeisiin töihin. Että laitetaan niille vähän hämärää niin voivat salaa itkeä siellä. Hartwallilla tää meni kyllä silleen osittain mönkään, kun yhessä vaiheessa pamahti päälle ne (ainakin!) kuuden metrin korkuiset mainoslaatat, jotka kiertää koko hallia katsomoiden välissä. Olikohan se Shape Of My Heart joka rupes volisuttamaan? Musta tuntuu, että jo sitä ennenkin olin ihan liekeissä. Sen lisäks, että on jotenkin ihan huiman siistiä kuulla poppi- ja rokkibiisejä sinpponiaorkesterin kanssa, ni hienoa oli myös Stingin liian pitkät hihat. Ootteko huomannu? Ujosteleekohan se käsiään, vai onko se vaan oikeesti tajunnu et jotkut tytöt tykkää että se on symppiksen näköistä? Sitten toi Gordonhan on jotenkin tosi nuorekas. Se on niitä miehiä, jotka ei tunnu vanhenevan niinku lainkaan. Vähän ku Katri Helena. Ne vaan on, ja näyttää samalta, ja lapsesta lähtien niitä on aina nähnyt. Ja aina niillä on samat naururypyt silmäkulmissa ja aina ne vaan jaksaa. Gordonilla oli kanssa niin tiukat housut, että ihan jännitti. Mutta sillä on kyllä ihan hyvät kintut, niin kyllä se saa sellaisissa sukkahousuissa hyppiä jos haluaa. On sallittua.

Mä meinasin, että mainitsisin tässä useempia biisejä ja valottaisin vähän enemmän asiallisesti arvostellen koko konserttimeininkiä, mutta en mä tiedä kiinnostaako ketään kirjallisesti yrittää elää jotain keikkaa, missä se ei ole itse ollut. En mä ainakaan jaksais. Mä luen keikkajuttuja, jos olen itse ollut paikan päällä. Sekin nyt on vähän nurinkurista, vähän kuin lukis ruokareseptiä sen jälkeen kun on jo sen annoksen tehnyt ja syönyt. Oli hyvää tai ei, ei se kenenkään paperille kirjoittamana mihinkään muutu. Eilinen pääsee mulla ainakin helposti hienoimmat keikkamuistot ikinä -muistosäkkiin, eikä siihen jonkin musiikin oman tapanimaskulan nillitys mitenkään vaikuta.

Mutta se on ihan hyvä, että tuli kerrottua kehon vuotavista kolosista ja yhen pojan hihoista, vaikkei siitä musiikista niinkään jaksanut.

Lopuksi haluaisin kiittää uusia parhaita ystäviäni Radio Aallolla. Ihmisestä tulee heti best friend forever, kun se satunnaisten soittajien joukosta sattuu juuri SUN puhelusi poimimaan ja kertomaan, että hei sä voitit nyt nää liput.

Yes I think these details concerning our beverages were very interesting and relevant.

After that the two of them abandoned me in front of CIA to queue to John Mayer‘s gig. Seemed hopeless, but when the line started moving, in only took 5 minutes to get in. And I got close to the stage too!

Hilights of the gig: Belief, absolutely. Stop This Train. John’s fooling around looking goofy, speeches & jokes, the fun backup singer ladies and well, most of the evening. Just awesome. Oh! And Ellie Goulding, the warm-up act. I listened to some of her songs before leaving home and didn’t like them much but dammit! I just couldn’t help loving her. Amazing singer, fun personality, good live show.

But Mayer, oh. I still can’t believe I got to see him play live OR that the gig is now actually over and I’m not sure if I’m ever gonna see him play again.. as I updated my Twitter account:

I feel it coming. I can sense it. It’ll hit me like a ton of bricks floating on a hurricane. The post-gig depression.
